Images of the Day :
Day Course: 46 km Night
excellent, and breakfast. It stopped raining and the weather seems to want to get in the hot sun. We meet on the church square and then take a seat in a minibus that takes us to the caves of San Tomas. We wait at the finish, before being fitted with a caving helmet and a headlamp. Then we climbed the mountain in front of us. The climb is tough. Then we arrive at a set of caves, ancient Indian island habitat and original inhabitants of the island. Dug by water seepage, earthquakes and man, these former coral mounds are superb. Values being less than in Vietnam, it remains a superb spectacle. Our headlamps illuminate detail in shadow. After one hour, we go down and visit the mausoleum of Malagon, an episode of the Castro revolution. Back in the village, we are trying to book a bus to Cienfuegos, our next destination, but it is already full from 8am. We will leave at 7 am tomorrow morning. After a nap, we head into the surrounding countryside, along a path that winds through fields of tobacco, sugar cane and pineapple. We are invited by 2 times in the surrounding fields. People are very friendly and welcoming. We even have a right way and a demonstration of making cigars. The proposed coffee is very good and homemade.
We refuse each time, buying local cigars. then we will see a baseball game, the Cuban national sport. The atmosphere is good child. And we go quietly to our guesthouse. Elisa and her daughter Edelys are now sort of rice for dinner tonight. Delicious meal. We return to our room and we fell asleep quickly, because tomorrow, long day by bus, direction Cienfuegos in central Cuba.
